Austin Recycle and Reuse Center: How to Book a Visit

How to book the Austin Recycle and Reuse Center, what residents can drop off for free, and what to leave at home.

Austin recycle and reuse center visits need an appointment

The Austin recycle and reuse center does not take walk-ups. Schedule the visit online or in the Austin Recycles app before you load the car. The same appointment can cover a drop-off and a stop at the reuse shelf, where the city sets out free paint, cleaning supplies, and mulch when they have them.

Use is free for Austin and Travis County residents, except tires. The city posts a tire fee of $6 per tire. If you do not live in Austin or Travis County, fees apply. Businesses cannot drop off hazardous waste here. Those calls go to 512-974-4335.
